Positive Parenting Lessons

I realized something beautiful as a parent a few days ago. My daughter, Ishaana, is now in this stage, where she is so curious about pens and papers. She can recognize alphabets, numbers 1-20 and few shapes.

She started scribbling on papers and now eventually she has started writing on walls and other surfaces. I don’t shout at her usually. You have to give them opportunity to unleash their creativity.

One day she went overboard and she started drawing (scribbling) on TV!! My heart was in my mouth for a second but I gathered myself and said, “Baby! can you please help mommy write alphabets on the paper?” She immediately ran towards me and we continued writing on the paper.

Instead of shouting , “No! Don’t do that!!” which also infuriates them and makes them repeat that action again, try toning your voice down and say something alternative and exciting.

I have been following this technique for quite sometime but only that day, I realized how effective this has been.

Are you using any special parenting technique that has made a huge positive impact on your child’s emotional development? Please share!

Hi dear, interesting post, I have 2 boys, my oldest is a teenager, the parenting strategy that I have always use is wide open communication, I think kids learn at a very young age when you communicate properly with them, and they do listen, thanks for sharing your post

Thank you so much and yes, that is a great technique. Constant communication and talking right things with them helps
them talk early and understand things faster too.
